Amendment of Drugs and Alcohol Management Program (DAMP) Approval (Nominated Personnel)

Application to amend nominated personnel details under an approved DAMP program, including new nominations, replacements, or updates to existing staff such as Approved Testers and Collection Officers.

Online Service 15 THIS APPLICATION IS AIMED AT ANY DAMP-APPROVED ORGANIZATION THAT WISHES TO AMEND THE NOMINATED PERSONNEL DETAILS UNDER THEIR APPROVED DAMP PROGRAM.

Guidance Notes

Workflow:

1- Application: Organization submits updated personnel details through the CAA system, including CVs, training certificates, IDs, and medical licenses for any new or replacement nominees.

2- Review: CAA reviews the submitted personnel documentation to verify compliance with CAR-99 requirements. If clarification is needed, the organization is notified to provide additional information.

3- Training and Certification: Nominated personnel must complete CAA-approved training, either facilitated by the CAA or through a recognized external provider. Training certificates must be submitted for each nominee.

4- Assessment: The CAA conducts an individual assessment for each nominee, starting with a one-on-one interview. Based on the interview, the CAA may:

  • Approve the nominee without further exams
  • Require a theoretical exam, practical exam, or both
  • Up to three attempts are allowed for each exam. Failing all three practical attempts results in permanent disqualification from future DAMP roles.

5- CAA Decision: Based on the assessment outcomes, the CAA issues the final decision. If approved, each nominee receives a Certificate of Designation valid for up to two years or as specified by the CAA.

Required Documents:

  • CVs and educational certificates of nominated personnel
  • Valid Oman National ID for each nominee
  • CAA-approved training and refresher training certificates
  • Valid medical license (for Approved Testers only)
  • Manual for the Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) device
  • Sample documentation for drug panel testing and Point-of-Collection (POC) cup
  • Referral arrangement with a CAA-approved laboratory
  • DAMP subcontractor details (if applicable)
  • Any additional supporting documents (optional)

When has to be performed?

After the organization's DAMP Manual amendment has been reviewed and approved by the CAA, and updated personnel nominations or changes are required.
