THIS APPLICATION IS AIMED AT ANY DAMP-APPROVED ORGANIZATION THAT WISHES TO APPLY FOR AN INITIAL TO THEIR DAMP APPROVAL.

Workflow:
- Application: The organization submits a formal application through the CAA system, including the required documents such as the DAMP Manual, Chain of Custody Forms, and Medical Record Policy.
- Review: The CAA conducts a preliminary review of the DAMP Manual to verify compliance with CAR-99. If satisfactory, the application progresses to the next phase.
- Facility and Personnel Evaluation: Upon successful manual review, the organization proceeds with implementation of the manual, which includes setting up the required infrastructure (e.g., sample collection site, equipment, procedures) and nominating personnel for roles such as Approved Testers and Collection Officers etc.
- Training and Certification: As part of the implementation, the nominated personnel undergo training to ensure they are qualified to carry out drug and alcohol testing responsibilities under CAR-99.
- Training may be:
- Facilitated by the CAA, or
- Conducted by an external recognized provider
- Upon completion of training, the CAA conducts an individual assessment for each nominee. This assessment process begins with a one-on-one interview.
- Based on the interview, the CAA may decide to:
- Approve the nominee without further exams, or
- Require a theoretical exam and/or a practical exam, as deemed necessary
- Theoretical Exam:
- Maximum of three attempts allowed
- Conducted and graded by the CAA
- Applicants who fail may request a retest within the allowed attempts
- Practical Exam:
- Administered and graded by the CAA
- Also limited to three attempts
- Failing all three practical attempts results in permanent disqualification from future DAMP roles
- Training may be:
- Audit Inspection: The CAA conducts an on-site inspection of the facility to verify compliance with CAR- 99 and the submitted DAMP Manual.
- CAA Decision: Based on the outcomes of all previous steps, the CAA makes the final decision.
- If approved, the organization receives an official DAMP Approval Letter.
- Each approved individual is issued a Certificate of Designation, valid for up to two years or as specified.

- DAMP Manual.
- Chain of Custody Forms.
- Medical Record Policy.
- Manual for Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) device.
- Sample Point-of-Collection (POC) cup information.
- CVs, educational certificates, and national IDs of nominated personnel.
- CAA-approved training and refresher certificates.
- Valid medical license (for Approved Testers).
- Referral arrangement with CAA-approved laboratories.
- Additional Supporting Document(s) – Optional.
